Wedding prices

Hey folks, we get so many emails from people looking for a photographer in buffalo asking why we dont have prices on the website. Let me give you a brief explaination, and an overview of our prices.

First of all, everyone getting married and looking for a photographer is looking for something different. Some brides want full day coverage, some want just a few hours. Some want a deluxe Leather top of the line albums, others want a less expensive album just as long as the photo quality is excellent. Some want 2 photographers, parent albums, wall portraits, engagement sessions …etc.  So when you send an email asking how much our packages are, it is like calling West Herr Ford and asking how much does a car cost. We also offer discounts for winter weddings, and Friday weddings, so the wedding date factors into the price. If someone is getting married on a Friday in January, we could  have a wedding photographer shoot the ceremony, family and formal portraits at the alter for $250. So we could honestly have packages starting at $250. But, if you call me for a Saturday in June, we cant do anything in that price range. There are also so many different albums available.  the same package with a brand name album can cost several hundred dollars more than the exact same package with an off brand album.

When it comes to wedding photography in Buffalo NY, you wont beat our prices. If you want to make sure we are in your price range, we can do partial coverage for $250 and up depending on the time of year. If you are looking for full coverage, a DVD with all the high resolution images and a copyright release, price is around $1000. If you want full coverage, the DVD with copyright release and a 10×10 digital flush mount album we can do that in the $1500 – $2000 price range. That range would depend on wedding date, style of album, 1 or 2 photographers , parent albums or not.  FYI, Full coverage, DVD w/copyright, flush mount 10×10 album, 2 photographers,  2 digital flush mount parent albums, and wall portrait with no discounts would top out at around $2300. So that is the top price. At least now you know our price range is $250 – $2300.  Here is the nice thing…. We guarantee to have the lowest prices of any photography studio in The Buffalo area.  If you think you have a great package price from some other studio, bring in that price list, and we guarantee to beat their price.  Thank you, and if you have further questions, call me 681-0900.

Wedding photography hint #2

Wedding photography hint #2

“NEVER, NEVER hire a photographer that wants payment in full before they even show up”.  says David Wozniak owner of Wozniak’s Photography in the Buffalo, NY area.  There is no reason a photographer should have your full payment before you receive your photos. Many photographers are not that good, and they want your money before you see your photos. You would never hand your mechanic $300 and tell him you need brakes and hope he does a good job !  Why would you do this with a photographer.  “We know we are going to do a great job, so we put our money where our mouth is. You pay your balance after the wedding, once you see what a great job we did.”  responded Wozniak.   At Wozniak Photography, you only pay about half of your wedding package before the wedding. That makes it a lot easier on the bride and groom. Also, be weary of large deposits. Why would a photographer need $500 -$800 just to book your date?   ” Our deposit is only $350″ adds Wozniak, ” At Bridal shows, we cut that deposit to $100 to book your wedding date. “  Wozniaks Photography realizes how expensive a wedding can be, and bends over backwards to work with people. This is a first class studio that realizes the struggles couples have with planning a wedding and finding a great photographer.
Thumb up ! for Wozniak Photography *****

Don’t let these precious moments slip away, no matter the event, be it wedding, graduation, pregnancy, engagement, or those innocent first smiles of your infant or rapidly growing children. Pictures from the past are keepsakes that will be treasured for generations to come. Trust in Wozniak’s Photography in Buffalo, NY to capture and protect these intimate moments of your life.

HINT #1  Make sure your photographer is a full time photographer with a studio. Not someone that does this on the side. There are many people that consider themselves professional photographers that have nothing more than a website and a cell phone number.  They usually meet you in a coffee shop or they come to your house.  A “professional” means this is what they do for a living (a profession). If you are planning on spending more than $1000, why would you want to fund someone else’s hobby. Also make sure that photographer has at least 50-75 weddings under thier belt.  Again, you don’t want to pay someone to learn wedding photography at your expense on the biggest day of your life.

Thank you, ~David Wozniak

Finding the Perfect Photographer for Your Wedding

Alright ladies. Your wedding is coming up. From the dress, to the church, to the cake, to the reception, you’ve got countless plans to make. Surely you’ve touched on the issue of a photographer, and since it’s your wedding, you want to make sure that every detail is perfect, including the pictures that capture the occasion.

Every photographer has a different style, and every bride has different preferences. So, it would stand to reason that once you match the bride to the photographer, magic happens. Some brides opt for a more traditional approach, with traditional poses and traditional photo effects. The wedding party assembled on the steps of the church, the happy couple cutting the cake, or sharing their first dance. Others may want to bring out the sillier side of their wedding, and capture pictures of the newlyweds shoving cake in each other’s faces, of the groom taking off the bride’s garter with his teeth (much to the embarrassment of the bride’s father), and Uncle Patsy trying to dance with the bride after having way to much champagne. Some photographers go for more tried and true approach to picture editing, sticking to black and white, color, and simple effects. Others may experiment a bit more with colors, backdrops, and subjects. It all depends on your preferences.

Another aspect of the search that is undeniably important is price. Depending on where you live, when you’re having your wedding, and what your expectations for the pictures are, the cost could range anywhere from five hundred to ten thousand dollars. If it’s the off season, some photographers may consider giving you a deal, or a couple of add-ons. Research online  and around the area where you live. Compile a list of possible candidates, take a look at their portfolios, and interview them to see if they’re someone you would like to work with. Tell them about your wedding, and ask them what they envision capturing. If it meshes with your ideas, great. If not, move on to the next one on the list.

Also ask about post production. Will the photos be printed in the photographer’s lab? Will a CD of the pictures be available? Will they be put online? Does the photographer’s company have the capability to assemble the pictures into an album? Make sure that once you choose a photographer you draw up a list of what you want, what they can do, and how much everything will cost. Tell the photographer about any pictures that you definitely want taken, so that you’re not disappointed when all is said and done. You’ll want to choose someone that is professional and personable. After all, they will be attending your wedding, and you want them to make a good impression on your guests, not to mention make them comfortable, as they will also be having their picture taken.

All in all, it’s not too hard to find a wedding photographer that will meet all your wants and needs. It will take some work, but once you determine what you want, review candidates’ portfolios, meet prospects, and work out a plan, there’s no reason that the visual documentation of your wedding shouldn’t be every bit as special and thrilling as the day itself.
